Day 3:

Third day, we had to get some job done! For our nautical studies students, they did the passage planning. For our marine engineers, we would need to do Engine Room familiarization so that we would know where the engines, pressure gauges and thermometers located at.

 Engineers at work!

We had our campus tour again but this time is more of the engine room side. In their college, they had a laser machine. They used the laser machine for souvenirs purposes like key chains, plates and etc.

The red machine is the laser machine

Souvenirs made by the laser machine

Next is the safety drill. We had to practice the safety drill so that if anything happen to the ship, we would know what to do. By lifting up the red and white flag means that we are having an abandon ship drill and nobody would misunderstood that this is an abandon ship.

Serious faces with helmet and life jacket on!

We headed over to the college to observe the fire fighting training.

New friends while touring around the campus!

Mr Tay & Mr Masahiro

We (SMA students)  had our free time so we sat down at the poop deck to discuss on what activities we would be having at night to bond with the Oshima students and definitely to have fun!

Evidence!

Before the Welcome dinner, we had to go to the college to attend the tea ceremony. The tea ceremony is to let foreigners to know how to drink the Japanese tea in the traditional way.

Once the tea ceremony had ended, we headed to Oshima maru to have our welcome dinner. After the welcome dinner, the SMA students had a small presentation, an introduction video of us. We went to the poop deck to carry on our activities. We played a few games like The Apple Game and to Untangle ourselves. Fortunately the Oshima students understood the instructions of the games if not it would be difficult for them to play the game. I can say that the games had successfully bonded all of us. Though we only played for around 1hr, it was enough to bond all of us.The laughter and joy that we all had was memorable. It was an awesome night after all.

Awesome dinner! SASHIMI!

Beautiful sunset. Beautiful sky. Beautiful Oshima. Beautiful Oshima Maru.

 & Beautiful SMA students!!!
