Day 5


Day 5 (11 October, Thursday):

0630: Roll call
0700 - 0800: Breakfast
0900: Leaving Onomichi
0900 - 1200: Watchkeeping, workshop
1200 - 1300: Lunch
1300: Arriving at Imabari
1320 - 1700: Field trip (Hakata Salt Inc. , Oyamazumi shrine)
1700 - 2100: Shore leave (Dinner)
2100 - 2200: Free time, shower
2200: Night round & lights out

Day 5:

Unlike other days, we had to report at 0630. This time, we had to do morning work out to start off our day. So the oshima students guided us the morning work out. Staying in the ship, we would have to do some housework in the ship. Same routine, everybody was assigned to one duty to clean up the ship. With everybody's help, within 30 mins, we cleaned up the ship. Breakfast and back to watch keeping.

Shore leave

We arrived at Imabari and went to this factory called the Hakata Salt Factory. Soon after, we proceed to the Oyamazumi shrine.

The tree above is called the wishing tree. In order for your wish to come true, you will have to run 2 rounds around the tree by holding your breathe. Also, from the picture, you can see we are wishing. This is called the wishing well. Firstly you will have to wish and throw the coin into the well. Secondly after throwing the coin, you will have to clap 3 times and bow afterwards.(Information not very accurate)
