Memories

Here's a video montage of our Oshima trip 2015.
Please enjoy it~

It would not be fun without my group mates who went with me. Thank you for co-operating with each other and making the trip a successful one. We learnt a lot about each other and also how beneficial the trip was for all of us. We will all miss Oshima greatly!

Til next time~

Day 7, Visit to Miyajima

Rise and shine! It was our last day here in Oshima~ One week really flew past just like that. We would be heading back to Singapore today! Our flight to Tokyo, Haneda Airport from Iwakuni Aiport would be @1830. We would reach Haneda Airport @2030,  have dinner followed by some free time til our flight to Singapore @2350~

Goodbye Oshima!
Thank you to the crew of Oshima Maru, who were always patient and taught us well~

We woke up early for some cleaning and packing! It would be the last time we'd have breakfast at the dormitory! After coming back from breakfast, it was time to bid farewell to crew and Oshima Maru itself. We had such a great time here. We would then take a bus to Miyajima, where would visit the shrine and have some free time there!

We have reached, Miyajima~

They were dears everywhere, and we were able to pet them~

We were quite scared!
How cute~

We then walked around, visiting the different areas. We were so excited for the street food and the famous oysters! It was very fun and it was very packed with tourists all around the world~

The start!
What a view~

Thank you for the wonderful day our dear Japanese friends :)

It was time to make our way to Iwakuni Airport! What a wonderful it was here in Miyajima where we managed to do some shopping and have a taste of their delicious food here. It was sad that the trip has come to an end. To Iwankuni Airport we go~

We had some rest time and had to report to our designated areas by 0715! We would be leaving Marugame and heading back to Oshima by 0800. We had our usual watch keeping till lunch time~

Lunch time~

After lunch, it would be our last watch keeping :( Our training period has come to an end. It was really a  great opportunity to be given the chance to learn from the crew and students of Oshima NMCT. We have learnt so much and hope to bring back the knowledge and experience to share with our peers back in Singapore!

To Oshima, we go!

"We are going to miss this place!"

We have finally reached Oshima! Wow, our 4 days of sailing to the different states have ended :( It was now time for cleaning and the closing ceremony. We each received a certificate for the 4 days training cruise we have attended. The certificates were given out by the Captain of Oshima Maru!

The end of the training cruise~

It was an emotional end but the time spent on Oshima maru was impactful and beneficial, not forgetting the companionship from our dear Japanese friends. Thank you so much for being such great hosts and friends :)

Day 5, Visit to Marugame

It was a brand new day, and it was already our fifth day there. We woke up for our morning exercise and had breakfast at around 0615. We then proceed for a short rest time, before leaving Kobe @0800.

Daily morning exercise for a fresh new day!

After that, it was time for breakfast. We had some free time before reporting to our designated areas @0715. While waiting, the Japanese students and us just hung out, at the student hall~

Goodbye Kobe~

It was finally time to leave Kobe :-( The fun time we had yesterday will always be missed! However, we were pretty excited for the field trip to the Konpirasan Shrine, in Marugame later. Now it's time for the usual watch keeping for both the deck students and engine students~

Taka learning from the Japanese student~
Making sure we're always on the right path!

We had our usual lunch @1200 before another four hours of watch keeping, until we reach Marugame.

We are almost there :)

We were behind schedule and reached Marugame an hour later, and that only means we had lesser time for the field trip later on~

We have reached Marugame, finally~

We quickly got dressed  as the bus was already waiting for us! It was quite a journey to the Konpirasan Shrine. Due to the delay, we did not have the time to reached the top. Nonetheless, the different views we could see from above was breathtaking.

Let's go~

Although the climb up was exhausting, because of the number of steps. We did not feel tired as we had a fun time taking photos and buying food along the way up! The company we had also played a part as we had so much jokes and laughter up the stairs. The views really were beautiful. We had dinner together at around 1900 before heading back to Oshima Maru @2100 for roll call!

Let's start climbing!

Amazing view~

Time to go down, due to the lack of time :(

Mr Naung :)

The long flight of stairs down~

After climbing down, we had dinner at a local Chicken House! We left for Oshima Maru @2045. Time for a shower and rest time!

Til the next day! :-)
